Terms of use
These are the rules for using Ciboso. When you sign in, you confirm that you are 16 or older and that you accept these terms. We record the date, the time and the version of the terms you accepted.
Who we are
Ciboso is run by Esosa Enakoya. In these terms, "we" and "Ciboso" both mean Esosa Enakoya. How we handle your data is explained in the privacy policy.
Who can use Ciboso
- You must be 16 or older.
- An account is for one person. Keep your login safe and do not share it.
- You are responsible for what you do with your account.
Your recipes and photos
- What you write and upload stays yours.
- You give Ciboso a free, non-exclusive right to store your content and to show it only to the people you chose, only so that Ciboso can work. If you delete a recipe it is no longer shown, but it stays stored. After you delete your account your recipes stay stored, anonymised, and recipes you had shared stay visible with the same audience. You keep your authorship rights over what you wrote. This right continues for recipes that stay after you delete your account.
- Only post what you have the right to post. Do not post other people's work as your own.
- Do not upload anything sensitive, such as health details, identity documents, or a photo in which someone can be recognised without their permission. Recipes and their photos stay stored, so think before you upload. You are responsible for what you upload. If something should not be there, write to us and we remove it.
Rules for content
Do not post anything that:
- is illegal, or helps someone to do something illegal;
- is hateful, threatening, or harasses or insults a person or a group;
- is sexual or shows violence;
- shows or uses another person's private details or photo without their permission;
- is spam, an advertisement or a scam;
- is not a recipe, or is meant to mislead or to harm, for example a recipe made to make someone ill.
Sharing
A recipe is visible only to you until you share it with a group or with every signed-in person. You can change this at any time. People who have already seen a recipe may have copied it.
Reporting and hiding recipes
- Use Report on a recipe or on one version of it (this also blocks it for you, until you unblock it in Account), or write to esosaenakoya@gmail.com and include the link to the recipe, why you think it is illegal or breaks the rules, and your name and email address if you want an answer. If you give an email address, I can answer you by hand. Without one, I cannot answer you.
- How we handle reports: a report goes to a list that I, the person running Ciboso, read by hand. No automatic tool decides on reports or hides content. I check whether the recipe breaks the rules above or the law, and I may hide it, leave it, or ask for more details. Reports are handled in the order they arrive, but there is no fixed time and it can take days or weeks.
- I can also hide a recipe on my own initiative, without a report, if I see that it breaks these rules or the law.
- A hidden recipe or version can be seen only by its author. If an author hides a version of their own recipe, the people who bookmarked that version keep it. A copy kept on someone's device for offline use can stay visible until that device is online again.
- We may remove content, or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these rules. Before closing an account, I warn you where I can reach you and where the rule break is not serious.
- When we hide a recipe, remove content or close an account because it breaks these rules or is illegal, we tell the person affected what we did, which rule or law it concerns, the facts we relied on, whether it followed a report or our own check, and that no automated decision was used. We show this in Ciboso only; open Ciboso to see the note. The note also tells you how to disagree.
Disagreeing with a decision
If you think we were wrong to hide or remove something, or to close your account, write to us within six months and explain why. I look at it again, decide, and tell you the result. You can also go to court. Where I cannot reach you, I cannot answer.
Ending your account
You can delete your account and download your data in Account. What happens then is explained in the privacy policy: all your recipes stay, anonymised, and show "Deleted user"; recipes you shared stay visible to the same people. Your unpublished drafts are deleted. If you do not want other people to see a shared recipe after that, delete it first.
Using Ciboso
We try to keep Ciboso working, but it is a free service run by one person and may sometimes fail. Ciboso does not check recipes written by others. Check ingredients, allergies and cooking times yourself before you cook.
Some things we can never exclude by law, for example harm we cause on purpose, serious carelessness, or injury to a person. These terms also never take away the rights that the law gives you as a consumer.
Changes to Ciboso
We may change parts of Ciboso, for example to fix faults, keep it secure, follow the law, add or improve features, or because a service we depend on changes. If a change makes Ciboso clearly harder to use, we tell you in Ciboso beforehand where we can, and you can delete your account at any time, free of charge. We may stop Ciboso as a whole for serious reasons, for example if I can no longer run it; we then tell you in Ciboso at least 30 days beforehand where possible, and you can download your data in Account.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms for a valid reason, for example when the law, Ciboso or the way it works changes. Ciboso asks you to accept the new version before you carry on in the app. If you do not accept, you can sign out and stop using Ciboso, and write to us to have your account deleted, free of charge.
Law and courts
Belgian law applies to these terms. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you can bring a dispute before the courts of Belgium or of the country where you live. Please write to us first; we want to solve things without a court.
